Whilst the supervisor statement is written after the deadline, no other changes can be made to the application by the applicant or their prospective supervisor.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"m_-2403659969569879883xfmc6\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Mandatory requirements, essentially the official eligibility. The student must:<\/span>\n<ul type=\"circle\">\n<li class=\"m_-2403659969569879883xfmc6\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">be &#8216;overseas&#8217; for fees purposes.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"m_-2403659969569879883xfmc6\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">have the offer of a place at the University (and hence a gentle reminder that you cannot accept a student subject to this funding), or be within the first year of their PhD studies in the School.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"m_-2403659969569879883xfmc6\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">have \u00a0obtained \u00a0or \u00a0be \u00a0expected \u00a0to \u00a0obtain \u00a0at \u00a0least \u00a0an \u00a0upper \u00a0second \u00a0class\u00a0honours degree (or equivalent) from a recognised\u00a0institution of higher education before \u00a031\u00a0July 2017.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"m_-2403659969569879883xfmc6\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">meet the English requirements (e.g. IELTS of 6.5 overall with\u00a0no component less than 6.0).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"m_-2403659969569879883xfmc6\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">complete the application form (see link above for full details), including two references, exam transcripts, a research proposal and details of any publications and prizes<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div lang=\"EN-GB\">\n<div class=\"m_-2403659969569879883xfmc5\">\n<div>\n<div class=\"m_-2403659969569879883xfmc6\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The proposals are sifted within the School using the same criteria the University uses<\/span>(<a href=\"http:\/\/www2.warwick.ac.uk\/services\/academicoffice\/gsp\/scholarship\/typesoffunding\/chancellorsinternational\/pgr_scoring_criteria.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=uk&amp;q=http:\/\/www2.warwick.ac.uk\/services\/academicoffice\/gsp\/scholarship\/typesoffunding\/chancellorsinternational\/pgr_scoring_criteria.pdf&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1476249570609000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGJaH8M6zS3h-nczYt_OL7zHTKzOQ\">http:\/\/www2.warwick.ac.uk\/services\/academicoffice\/gsp\/scholarship\/typesoffunding\/chancellorsinternational\/pgr_scoring_criteria.pdf<\/a>).<\/div>\n<div class=\"m_-2403659969569879883xfmc6\">\n<blockquote>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div lang=\"EN-GB\">\n<div class=\"m_-2403659969569879883xfmc5\">\n<ol start=\"1\" type=\"1\">\n<li class=\"m_-2403659969569879883xfmc6\">Students will need to score at least <b>9\/10<\/b> in the scoring criteria.<\/li>\n<li class=\"m_-2403659969569879883xfmc6\">They need a <b>first class honours degree<\/b> in everything they submit (BEng\/MEng). This is essential as the score, marked out of 5, for education is worth 50% of the total marks.<\/li>\n<li class=\"m_-2403659969569879883xfmc6\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: medium;\">They need a<\/span><b> top class research proposal<\/b><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0that is relevant and practicable within the School, well considered and well referenced. If they don\u2019t have a good research proposal, the application is highly\u00a0unlikely to make it passed the internal sifting.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"m_-2403659969569879883xfmc6\"><b>Previous publication(s) <\/b>and <b>awards\/prizes<\/b> really help.
